MedStar Harborview Sports Medicine Hosts Free High School Cross Country Injury Assessment Clinic
11/12/2012
|
Baltimore—MedStar Harborview Sports Medicine at MedStar Harbor Hospital has partnered with Running Maryland to provide a free Injury Assessment Clinic for high school cross country runners, aimed to prevent injuries and help the community run healthy.
The majority of running injuries result from a combination of strength and flexibility deficits, biomechanical problems and training errors. Many runners ignore their injury and push through the pain, resulting in high injury recurrence rates.
MedStar Harborview Sports Medicine’s free Injury Assessment Clinic is designed to help high school cross country runners find their weak spots and provide guidance to correct those spots before they cause future injury.
Coaches also are invited to visit the facility, observe the video motion analysis and try running on the Alter-G Anti-Gravity Treadmill.
WHAT: Injury Assessment Clinic
WHEN: Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: MedStar Harborview Sports Medicine, 2900 S. Hanover St., Baltimore, MD 21225 (Click here for directions)
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. Call 410-350-8372 for more information about the free Injury Assessment Clinic, or to schedule an appointment.
