FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BALTIMORE—Sept. 9, 2009— On Monday, Sept. 21, MedStar Health will launch a new, extended hours medical practice at the MedStar Health Medical Center, located on Honeygo Center Drive in Perry Hall. MedStar Health After Hours Care will offer patients quality medical services when their primary care doctor cannot be available.
This service is not meant to replace a patient’s primary care physician; instead, its purpose is to enhance patient medical care through detailed post-appointment communication about the patient’s health status to their physician via electronic health record, fax or mail.
The facility is open 365 days a year, Monday through Friday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The office is staffed by experienced, credentialed family practice physicians and overseen by a medical director from Franklin Square Family Health Center. The doctors treat minor illnesses and injuries, provide vaccines and offer general health physicals. This allows patients the quality and convenience of an extended hours facility with excellent continuum of care for primary care physicians.
No appointment is necessary. However, patients can call ahead to avoid waiting. Most major insurances are accepted.
MedStar Health After Hours Care is a joint venture of Franklin Square Hospital Center and MedStar Physician Partners. For more information, please visit medstarhealth.org/afterhours.

Harbor Hospital’s specialty areas include orthopaedics, women’s services, cancer care, diabetes care, fetal assessment, cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation, and treatment of chronic lung conditions. The hospital’s continuum of care also includes wellness programs, outpatient services and inpatient treatment.
