BALTIMORE—October 29, 2007—The Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber (NAACCC) of Commerce recently named Harbor Hospital Director of Nursing Donna Graham, R.N., the 2007 Emergency Medical Person of the Year.
The award was bestowed at the NAACCC Annual Community Safety Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 17. The luncheon allows the NAACCC to recognize “the selfless dedication and outstanding performance of search and rescue, law enforcement, correctional, emergency medicine and firefighting individuals.”
Graham was recognized for her leadership and dedication to Harbor’s Emergency Department, Infection Control and Cardiac Telemetry units.
“We are so pleased that Donna was recognized for her outstanding service,” said Lenora Addison, R.N., Harbor Hospital vice president of patient care services. “We have long seen her as an outstanding medical professional and are pleased that others have taken the opportunity to recognize her as well.”

For more than a century, Harbor Hospital has grown alongside the communities it serves in Baltimore City, and Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Howard counties. The hospital was first established in 1903 as a small community clinic servicing the waterfront community in Baltimore. More than 100 years later, the hospital continues to offer the personal touch of a community hospital while incorporating the excellence of a high technology medical center. It has been the recipient of the Delmarva Foundation’s highest honor, the Excellence Award for Quality Improvement for Hospitals, in 2006 and 2007.
With more than 500 physicians representing 30 medical and surgical specialties, and more than 1,000 employees, the hospital offers a full range of health care services for patients from infancy through the senior years. Harbor Hospital’s specialty areas include orthopaedics, women’s services, cancer care, diabetes care, fetal assessment, cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation, and treatment of chronic lung conditions. The hospital’s continuum of care also includes wellness programs, outpatient services and inpatient treatment.
Harbor Hospital is a member of MedStar Health, a not-for-profit, community-based health care organization comprised of seven major hospitals and 25 integrated businesses in the Baltimore/Washington area. MedStar Health is the third largest employer in the region with 23,000 employees and 4,600 affiliated physicians.
