Marion Kerns, MS, RN, Wins Manager of the Year Award

BALTIMORE—Feb. 23, 2007—Harbor Hospital is pleased to announce that Director of Nursing Marion Kerns, MS, RN, has been named the hospital’s 2007 manager of the year, and received the GoldFISH award this month. GoldFISH, a program born from the hospital’s FISH (Fresh Ideas Start Here) customer service program, recognizes one employee (manager title or above) every year who continually goes above and beyond his/her job description and always exemplifies traits of an outstanding manager.
Kerns has been employed by Harbor Hospital’s parent company, MedStar Health, for nearly 10 years. Rising in responsibility her current position as director of nursing over the Women and Infants’ Center, Special Care Nursery, the Intensive Care Unit, the lactation program, childbirth education, nursing grant program, education services and the float pool, Kerns has made a name for herself at the hospital as a go-to person.
“Marion is a proven leader with an amazing personal touch on everything she does,” said Harbor Hospital President Joseph M. Oddis. “She brings creativity, insight and leadership to whatever she is tasked with.”
Kerns will enjoy a $100 American Express gift card; a paid day off; a gift; her name on a special plaque in the hospital’s lobby as well as other hospital recognition.
