A Season of Excellence at Harbor Hospital

Harbor Hospital Earns the Quality Excellence Award for the Fifth Year
The Delmarva Foundation recently announced that Harbor Hospital has earned the prestigious Excellence Award for Quality, the highest award the Foundation can bestow. Harbor Hospital has earned the award five times, (2001, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010) more than any other hospital in the Delmarva area, including Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Delaware.
The Excellence Award for Quality recognizes individual hospital performance improvement in the four national inpatient clinical areas - Acute Myocardial Infarction, Heart Failure, Surgical Care Improvement and Pneumonia. To receive the award, hospitals must meet or exceed the following criteria and requirements:
- Improved individual performance measure rate to 90 percent or above on the 11 required measures.
- Sustained the improvement for at least three consecutive quarters.
