Midwifery Services

Request an appointment with a nurse-midwifeHarbor Women’s Care employs two full-time nurse-midwives who offer a holistic approach to caring for the expectant mother and her newborn. Paula Rose Greer, C.N.M., M.S., and Jeri Mancini, C.N.M., M.S., are certified nurse-midwives who believe in offering patients personalized and comprehensive and family-oriented plans of care.

Personalized

Since every mother, baby and pregnancy is unique, our midwives create a plan of care that is consistent with the mother's personal and cultural values, her and her baby's physical conditions and the mother's wishes. The holistic plan of care includes diet, nutrition, exercise and birth choice (i.e. water birth, with or without pain medication, etc.)

Comprehensive

It's a common misconception that a high-risk mother can't use a midwife—or that a mother who desires a Cesarean section can't visit a midwife. Harbor Women's Care, however, can safely satisfy the best of two worlds. The midwives work in conjunction with the board-certified physicians on the Harbor Women's Care team to offer every mother a personalized pregnancy and childbirth with attentive and expert care providers. Even if the physician acts as the primary caregiver during birth, our midwives are available to act as doulas* in the birth room.

Further, they offer a wealth of knowledge on topics related to childbirth and women's care. For example, Greer provides lactation support, and is a certified childbirth educator, certified grief counselor-perinatal loss and certified HIV counselor.

Family-Oriented

Our patients are family-oriented. Many refer their friends and family members for this holistic childbirth care, and many are "repeat" patients themselves. Our team offers the extra touch and the complete experience that many women are looking for when they are going through this special time.
