Preconceptional Care
The earliest weeks of pregnancy are a critical time for fetal development. Your preconception health and lifestyle has a great impact on your pregnancy. If you are planning to conceive and have concerns about family or medical history, past pregnancies, lifestyle or medications, you may want to consider preconceptional care.
During a preconceptional visit, you will be asked to answer questions about your eating habits, medical and family histories, medications, exposure to hazardous environmental agents and past pregnancies. To promote a healthy pregnancy, you will be given guidance on lifestyle changes that you may want to make before you conceive. These changes will help bring you to an optimum level of health to be prepared for your pregnancy.
