| Notes |
|
Dr. Marchant has extensive clinical expertise in treating a wide variety of sports-related injuries and arthritis of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. He specializes in the non-operative and operative treatment of injuries in both youth and adult patients of all skill levels, from recreational to professional athletes. In caring for his patients, he emphasizes patient education and the importance of injury prevention and rehabilitation.
During his fellowship at the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, he assisted the head team physician in the orthopaedic care of the 2009 World Champion Los Angeles Lakers. In addition, he served as an assistant team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Sparks, Anaheim Ducks and Fullerton College.
Dr. Marchant continued his medical training as an Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at Duke University Medical Center where his fellow residents presented him with the John M. Harrelson Chief Resident Teaching Award. Assisting the Sports Medicine Division at Duke, he served as one of the resident physicians for Duke Athletics.
While caring for professional athletes, his training allowed him to gain expertise in injury prevention and non-operative treatment modalities. In particular, he acquired extensive knowledge in the care of overhead athletes. Working among innovators in the field of sports medicine, Dr. Marchant further developed skills in cutting-edge arthroscopy techniques of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee, as well as in joint preserving and reconstructive procedures of the shoulder and elbow.
He is the head team physician for the Chesapeake Bayhawks and the Baltimore Bombers professional lacrosse teams and serves as the Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine physician for the Chesapeake Bayhawks. |
